This is something about our Polis Diraja Malaysia that I would like to share with all of you here…
A few months back, an uncle of mine was critically injured in a snatch theft incident. (head injury, still recuperating now.)
Because he was temporarily rendered immobile from that incident, my cousins (his daughters) from KL had to return to Penang to help out (They also hired a house nurse to take care of my uncle).
Then in an unfortunate twist of ill fate, one of my cousins (the author of the email in the link above) became a snatch theft victim herself. This happened about a month after her father’s accident. Two guys on a motorcycle appeared out of nowhere and snatched her baby bag while she was strapping her infant daughter into her car seat. She wasn’t hurt however, and didn’t lose anything valuable except a baby bottle and some food stuff, but she went ahead to lodge a report at a police station anyway.
Now, anyone would have thought that a law enforcement officer would at least show a wee tad of concern over a reported snatch theft incident out of sheer professionalism, if not haul his ass to do something about it. But to my cousin’s consternation, she was reproached by the attending police officer instead – why did she even bother to lodge a report, since she didn’t lose her cash or anything valuable? She was then given a crappy treatment, as if she was there to deliberately waste the officer’s precious time scratching his balls or whatever that he deemed as more important.
That was not all. About a couple weeks after the baby bag heist, the home nurse (mentioned above) almost joined the snatch theft victim club. Mustering the knowledge and experience of being both a tough nurse and a nasty housewife, she screamed like she has just seen a giant rat, and managed to drive off the thugs before they could even snatch anything (or something like that). Like my cousin, she felt that it was proper for her to lodge a police report on that and like what my cousin experienced, she was also given the same cold shoulder. I guess when the police says that they’re consistent and shit, they really meant what they say. The attending police officer did not even bother to take her statement since ‘nothing was lost’.
So there you have it people. Polis Diraja Malaysia. Malaysian law enforcement. You no lose money, you no come to polis. Bunch of delinquent farts. I guess they’re only interested in conducting road blocks and hanging out under a shade somewhere. And oh, homosexuals too. No shit, if you were to report a certain political figure corn holing some carbon based life form, they’d dispatch a couple army trucks and a few teams of Unit Tindakan Khas clad with bullet proof vests and balaclavas, and have the perpetrator arrested promptly to uphold the justice. They don’t have enough time to look at no petty snatch theft cases. (and we keep wondering why people are resorting to mob justice…)
It’s even more sad to know that we’re using our tax money to feed these morons to do this kind of frivolous law enforcement, and nobody is reviewing their performance. Man, I could have paid much less to rear a bunch of canines and they’d do a better job making me feel more secure. If refund is possible, I’d definitely want my money back.
*I’m sharing this so that you people get to learn about stuff you don’t read in the mainstream media. If any of you have encountered any shitty experience with our law enforcement officers, or have written your experience in your blog, please share it in the commenting system. Let the people know.

omg…. the future of m’sia safety is so sad…..
my friend once told me that her mum got stop down by some primary school kid on her way home, because the kid’s friend got knocked on the head by some malay thieves while walking home on a dark alley
she managed to bring them to a hospital nearby
n unfortunately this bright student ‘s body is half paralyzed
because guess what the thieves use to knock his head…. a freaking hammer…
what’s even more pathetic is the police didn’t treat this issue seriously when the family mentioned that the thieves are Malays.
what a “great” way to protect the citizens.
Two guys on a bike tried to snatch my bag in broad daylight (right opposite a Pondok Polis in Gurney Drive). They didn’t manage to get my bag but scratched my arm and pushed me against the car, resulting in a bruise. I was so shaken that I had to sit down for awhile before heading to the police station. I lodged a report at the Pulau Tikus branch and was sent to the main branch to meet an Inspector so and so. Insp. so and so spent 30 minutes informing me why these crimes happen (due to bad economy, etc) and that I was considered lucky as I wasn’t hurt as badly as other people who had lodged police reports earlier that day. Moral of the story: if you want some sympathy, you ain’t gonna get it from Polis Di Raja Malaysia. What they’ll do instead is inform you why this incident took place and try to justify it by giving you excuses, thereby absolving themselves of all responsibilities. Yes, I would like a refund as well!
Like you said, they are more interested in making road blocks, chasing vigil attendees, catching people in black, suspected homosexuals and the latest that I heard – stopping a young lady driver in a quiet housing area. Not only our police force have no sense of priority and reduced to a mere whipped dog, they obviously lack of good manners when dealing with the citizens.

As usual, all Malaysians will ignore this once they get hold of a nice nasi lemak, or a nice bak kut teh or a nice char kuey teow.
My fiance and I drove off from the house porch one night just when his sister came home. We nvr thought of anything bad as she parked right in front of the house with the porch lights brightly lit. 3 mins later, (we haven’t even turn out from the neighbourhood), his mom called us to go back to the hse, the sister got robbed.
As we drove off, we actually saw 4 men on 2 bikes driving pass us and thought less of it. in fact, they were the snatch thieves.
The sister was still in the car getting ready to get down when suddenly both bikes stopped next to the car and threw a brick on her side of the window several times until it breaks. the younger brother came out when he heard her scream only to get hit on the head with their helmets. The onyl thing stolen was her phone though she had cuts from the broken glass.
This happened in ss2, Pj.
Yah disgusting man, they don’t even ask if you saw the number plate or to describe the assailants.
Even if something is lost they are like “So what, no-one is hurt..what do you want us to do?”
who do you blame for all these? guess who, it’s our good doctor you know who. he started a frenzy overdrive import all sort of “people” from our good neighbor to drive the construction industry. the only condition is their religion must be of the right kind, so came all the indons and bangala to our hometown. When the economy sinks, guess what these people do for a living? They got nowhere to go, back home it’s even worse, here they can try with luck with your uncle and aunties – bags and wallet.
Got snatched twice. The first time, PDRM said “Oh NO USE reporting if you can’t see the motorcycle registration number, besides…it’s late now!” (It was almost 11pm at the hospital.) Second incident, PDRM gave me a lecture on how these things happen when you are careless and don’t count on getting your things back. (I was sitting down having dinner with my handbag in between my legs at a mamak when it got snatched.)
Thank you PDRM.
I lost my wallet and lodged a report with my dad. The police looked super heavy-hearted having to take my statement down. They said it’s just a wallet and there’s no money inside. I was 12 back then and all I carried was an IC and some kiddo shit. Seriously, Polis Diraja Malaysia = Polis Raja Di Malaysia.
It’s a hopeless country and why am I not surprised they love roadblocks (lotsa money on its way!)and drinking coffees in Mamaks(I swear I’ve seen them not paying and just walk off!) just because they are POLIS!
My mom lost RM3,000 worth of cash and other valuables to two snatch thieves on motorbikes during CNY. And upon reporting to the police, they said since she didn’t get to see the perpetrators’ faces due to the visor on their helmets, why not report her IC and stuff as ‘self-lost’ and not as a snatch case.wtf.
thanks for the info… will be more careful when I come back to Pen. I will be heavily pregnant then (more reason to be extra careful) & I always carry a baby bag (I have a year+ old daughter). It helps to know they wont even let go a few nappies, bottle & baby food!
banksie – You should be careful everywhere you go lar, not just Penang…
all – thanks for sharing.
Michael…my condolences. I live in Subang Jaya and have yet to encounter anything untoward. I have given some thought on what to do if i ever encounter such shit heads. Just mow them down in the name of self defence….THEN go to the cops claiming that you panicked and natural self preservation instinct took over.
Hi Palm_tx, You can’t just put all the blame on the foreigners. I was robbed by locals!
If you want to blame someone, blame PDRM, they haven’t been doing their job, hence the high crime rate.
i just lost notebook (just bought it few months ago) and… didn’t bother to make a police report as i know this will not helping anything.
I remember being pulled over by a traffic police for speeding. But the thing is, I did not speed. He insisted that I sped and asked for my license. I gave it to him.
Right after that, he asked me whether I wanna settle it or not. I said no and told him I’m driving within the allowed limit. He asked me to settle it or it will be worse.
Then I got shit angry and shouted at his face to just slap me with a summon and be done with it already.
To my surprise, he gave me back my license and asked me to go… and drive carefully. Without any summons and without having to pay him. I think he’s trying to frame me la. That stupid fucker.
Oh btw, all these happened in Klang.
My car got banged by an idiot and so i lodged a police report, the 1st thing the fat bytch (police woman) said “yang langgar tu melayu ke ape?? kalau melayu, u salah tau!!!!” in her bitchy voice. also in kedah, they tried to cheat the older ppl tht if the back passenger didn’t wear safety belts, they will be fined above rm 500 thus they only accept rasuah of rm 300.
i remember when i was working part time in sunshine square penang, back when they were still a small shop. the staff caught a shoplifter and kept him in a storeroom to wait for the police. somehow, during the wait (about 30 mins) the fella pushed out of the store and got hold of a cutter.
brandishing the cutter to scare the staff, he made his escape. lo and behold, a few seconds after he ran, about 3 policemen came in swaggering like cowboys (i kid u not). when told the crook had run off, the policeman said something like “dun blame us” and left. tada.
all i can say they are lan jioa fucking cibai bastards faggots, hell also don want them, agree?
My personal bad experience with police officers – read here.
not long ago, someone hit my car and i went to make a report at the traffic police station since that bastard refused to pay for the damage. when i reached there, the traffic police said i should first make a report at the police station nearest to where my accident took place and then bring the report to them. fine, so i went. then, the police officer said i should lodge a report at the main police station. i went all the way to the main police station and the police officer said i should go back to the traffic police station. wtf?!
Hi Mike,
sorry to hear what happened.
Anyway, here’s my sole experience at the police station a few years back.
A burglar entered my house and fortunately he was scared off by the blaring alarm and the blinking lights of my whole house (those electronic project that I used to toy with during my young days did come in handy). I dont think he will be try his luck again at this mad 70s disco scientist house again.
Nothing was taken and no one was hurt, and I was contemplating to make a police report as I have heard many uncomfortable stories before. I couldn’t sleep the whole night and once morning, I made up my mind and I got dress and made my way to the nearest police station to lodge a report.
There I was greeted by this constable and he asked me what I wanted. I told him that someone tried to enter my house during the night and wish to make a report. He then proceed to wave another officer in a room (persumedly a higher ranking person) to come out. He then ask me if anything was taken and I said no. He then stared at me for a while and ask, are you sure you want to make a report?
For the few minutes there, they gave me an uneasy feeling, as if it was an extra burden for them to take my report and oddly, somehow I was convinced by them not to lodge the report. And you should look at the face of relief. And happily they said, they will send patrol cars over at night to keep an eye. And sarcastically said, rumah kawasan sana besar besar (houses there are big). I was stunned for a while and wanted to ask him what does a person plight got to do with the size of their house (they didn’t know the size of my house (tiny) as they didn’t take my report or made a trip there!!) but better judgment got me and I saved my breath and left in a huff. #%$@!
I did a write up in 2007, some collection of police mess..
enjoy,

My housemate experienced one hella police reporting experience too… a snatch thief snatched his laptop and his girl friend was hurt by the incident. My housemate went to the nearest police station to make a report and coincidentally, it was 3pm, tea time for the police man. So the policeman told my housemate, “adik, sekarang tea time… you nak tunggu ke? kalau nak tunggu, i boleh tolong order minuman” = =||| . i guess this is the reason why our policemen are all out of shape. I still have a few more about my friend and family around me with their experience with the Royal Police Force of Malaysia. Most of them were bad experience
The other day I heard from a local chinese FM stating that malaysia has about 33,000+ police men, and public security guards has more than 35,000 people in service. That doesn’t include volunteer residents that form “taman night guards” all around malaysia.
People are starting to find their own way of protection. Police don’t care about your belongings and lives. They work as police men for the sake of working, nothing more. Safe, relaxing job, fixed income, that’s it.
erm… sorry to hear all that. well, from my observations it is the police personnel itself that making such annoyance and unpleasant feelings to all of us. But making such statement like PDRM etc. is not pratical for me to say. Qouting such name involved those who are innocent esp those police personnel whom working in the admin section or not in the capability of doing so. So, please be matured enough or think twice before making statement guys. Have a great day!!!!
LOL
eddy – ‘It is the police personnel itself’? After soooo many incidents? (hint: read properly, above). Wow. What an optimistic (and ‘mature’) person you are.
