hmmm… this is the classic case of ah lian / ah beng’s interpretation of engRish names… like how:

michael tan = buy eggs (mai kai tan)
wilson = lotion (don’t ask me why, i dunno)
jessie = pig shit (ju sie)

sigh… if really so beng and lian, forget engRish names… just go with:
- ah long
- ah miao
- ah kau

good enuf… right? hehehehe…

Ryan’s a nice name but the problem is that there are way too many Chinese boys with it.

Maybe it’s better she doesn’t give her kid a name she can’t pronounce properly? Otherwise 15 years down the line you’re going to end up with an Aloysius situation (Phua Chu Kang reference).
