No. Guys come up to me in Puduraya and ask for some money and comes the usual story, he comes from Kuching to study and lost all his money because he was robbed, now he needs a dollar to make a phone call. plump chinese fella, specs and all. Exercising our “whatifs” whenever we want, thereby intentionally bending and breaking the rules… That’s a very dangerous generalisation!
I not implying this reverse logic, i.e. abusing “whatifs” to justify any apparent wrongdoing…. .
Anyway, whether or not a decision made is good or bad …right or wrong… as far as conscience is clear… one bears full responsibility of the decision he/she makes.
So…. when u ask where are the bases… I think u have answered ya questions.. the bases are the existing laws, regulations, social obligation, religious guides and one’s values….. “whatifs” emerges when one tries to make a decision considering these bases…thinking about the consequences…..
