school teachers

story i heard from the bunch of trainees I’m training today….

“point your mouse on the tab, and click”

that’s the instruction to a school teacher. Know what she did ? She placed her mouse on her monitor screen, pointed at the tab (on the screen) … and fucking clicked.

I was laughing so hard that they thought I’m a hyena in disguise. Ahaks…

Apparently, there ARE someone who’s worse than Panda. School teachers. I mean, wtf ? Aren’t school teachers suppose to be smart and all that ? how are we gonna depend on them educating our children ? This is so ironic.

No wonder we have so many intellectually challenged individuals in our society. This is one of the major factor of social decadence.

stupidity is omnipresent, it can’t be explained and it’s nature’s method of population control.

hhehe. funny story…but if u think the other way around, that scholl teacher is not stupid. she is doing the right thing based on the instruction given “point your mouse on the tab, and click”. sometimes we dont expect plp 2 understand what we say. wht important is, we must make our instruction clear.

I guess she didn’t quite grasp the concept, or it wasn’t imparted properly…?

Well, the school teacher executed the right thing according to the instruction given. The root cause of this embarrasing incident has to come from the instructor. Incorrect instruction given and yet expect her to understand. The correct instruction has to be “With the use of your mouse, move the cursor on the screen onto the tab, and click the left mouse button.” Agree?

Give them a break la. They are teachers that dont really know what a PC is and is expected to teach kids using powerpoints and craps like that because someone in the ministry said that in the public. Gosh…

Suka… IT…. Cinta IT…. Damn. the Song didn’t work for the teachers.

Once I taught a friend how to set up her internet dial-up connection. I make quite a comprehensive step by step guide with all the screenshots in MS Word. The day after she complaint to be it still can’t work and insisted that she followed my instructions 100%

When I came over, I asked her to do it in front of me. I started laughing like crazy to find her clicking on the screen shot all the time “as instructed”.

    humphrey and hummingbird.

It is 2004. The instruction was given with knowledge and the correct assumption that the teachers would understand, since they are adults and not kindergarden toddlers. Rethink it, the instruction was correct.

  • December 23rd, 2004, 3:26 pm | #

Some teachers, especially the old timers, have never used a PC before. The fault lies with the Education Ministry for not training these teachers adequately.

    TUKAR MENTERI PENDIDIKAN!!!! :)

I see your point. See it from my view. IF I instruct a teacher, “Please get the child a glass of water” and he gives the kid a glass of water piping hot which later cause scalding/injuries, is is MY fault for not telling him to get cold or room temparature water or HIS fault for not using COMMON SENSE?

See, this is what is meant as correct assumption when instruction is given to an adult. We are not debating the intelligence (or lack of it) about teachers, we are merely discussing common sense/logic which naturally comes with age. I rest my case.

khalilur : whats this with blaming the education ministry? and whats this with blaming everybody except the teacher? do you not think its their responsibility in this day and age to take the initiative to learn about these stuffs themselves rather than blaming the lack of training?

humphrey : if you blame everything on the imperfections of humans, then we will never progress much since everything can be blamed on that point

Im not blaming. But that is the real FACT about human.Who say we cant progress?the matter is whether u learn something from your past mistake or not?whether u take initiative to improve yourself or not?tht make human different&human can always march to the front…..come on man. dont b so sacastic.

The instruction is unclear for a beginner. Assumption is bad. If common sense is needed for beginners, m’sia pigs can FLY! :-)

  • December 25th, 2004, 12:42 pm | #

don - those aren’t beginners. those are TRAINED Ministry Of Education TEACHERS that teaches your kids KNOWLEDGE and how to COMPREHEND.

Assumption is bad yes. So, don’t assume. I’m there to coach these bunch of technical guys to help these teachers out.

And another thing…. common sense is needed for all living creatures on Earth. Beginners or not. I needn’t have to explain this.

Then maybe some ’smart’ people should become teachers and do something about our education system.

  • January 20th, 2005, 10:47 am | #

mei - wow, that’s indeed something new that nobody has thought of ! hiring smart people !
