“the eye 2″

Went to watch “The Eye 2″ on Saturday night. The movie is a sequel to the award winning horror movie “The Eye”. Before I went for the movie, someone actually gave me an impression that it was very good and I was expecting it to be as good as the original.

Well, it wasn’t. In fact, it wasn’t good at all by any standard. And confusing too. Some of the points below

1) The title says “The Eye 2″. Well, the movie has nothing to with the eye. In the first movie “The Eye”, the story was about a cute chick being able to see ghosts after receiving a cornea transplant, hence it was aptly called “The Eye”. That was a good movie. But in “The Eye 2″, the plot was about the protagonist getting pregnant. So, why is it called “The Eye 2″? My friend Cindy said that the title should instead be called as “The Pregnancy”… while I suggested “The Kid”. Or “The Baby”. “Fetus”.

2) The storyline sucked. Like all sequels to many great movies, “The Eye 2″ was a big disappointment. There was no storyline that one could follow at all. Although I’ve mentioned that a storyline isn’t really an important factor for a horror movie, but it’s just all common sense to have something to grab at when you’re telling a story. Ghosts won’t simply appear out of nowhere to scare the shit out of anyone. Things like that. It’s like watching frames of pictures of people getting confused.

3) The cast was bad. I can never dig that Hsu Chi being in any movie. She’s too fugly to be in any flicks, period. Not to mention her being a known porn star. When you see an ugly porn star starring in a horror movie — you can best bet that the movie will suck big time. (I should have known that). Porn stars can never act good, and they always set the wrong expectation. Same here. No hump scene and she got pregnant. Simply preposterous. Porn stars are better left to do what they’re good at - being creative in poses and faking orgasms.

4) The ghost design was also bad. In the flick, the villain ghost was the Hsu Chi the porn star’s boyfriend’s dead wife. And trust me, that ghost looked very much more decent than that porn star Hsu Chi. Ghosts are suppose to be scary and shit, but, it seems that Hsu Chi looked scarier than anything else. A total disaster when you think the heroin looked more like a ghost than the ghost itself.

5) Too much crying. The main actress a.k.a ugly porn star, cried approximately 70% in the movie. Seriously, she cried so fucking much that I almost thought that the guy up there took the wrong reel for screening. You see, when her boyfriend dumped her, she cried. When she almost got raped (still… no hump scene), she cried. Each time she sees a ghost, she cries. When she was having her lunch, she went berserk and cried. It gets on your nerve when there is too much crying involve.

Alright, I’m too distressed to go on. The movie was a complete flop.

If you’re a serious horror movie fan, you should avoid watching this movie at all cost.
